GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Members' Code of Conduct 

    •  Members are responsible for attendance or non-attendance to meetings, by advising the Secretary before 5pm the Thursday before the meeting. Non-advisement will be assumed attendance and you will pay for the meal. $15

    •  Members are most welcome to bring guests to meetings. Please notify the President or the Secretary should you wish to do so. Guests will have to pay the meal cost. 

    • Agenda items must be submitted to the Secretary at least 10 days before the club meetings for Executive Committee consideration. A written summary of the issue and a recommendation should be provided.

    • All members are reminded of the importance of professional conduct at meetings. Confidentiality and respect for other points of view, should be foremost in our minds.

  • MEMBERSHIP FEES?  HOW ARE THEY USED?

    • Every Australian BPW member contributes $64 to BPW Australia, taken from the membership paid to the local club. How does BPW Australia use the $64/member we send?
    • $16 for BPW International affiliation fee, which helps maintain the BPW International chair at  the United Nations, and the BPW International newsletter forwarded monthly to our club.
    • $2 for insurance per member. this covers you for accidents and wages if injured while participating or working at BPW functions.
    • $5 Travel fund per member, this is re-imbursed to clubs on a pro-rata basis for the distance members have to travel to conference.
    • $1 BPW Bangladesh fees per member.
    • $5.80 GST 2000
    • $34.20 for the administration of BPW Australia.
    • the remainder is used by our club to function on a local level. This is why sponsorship is so important. So if you know a local business or industry or group or even an individual who could offer sponsor ship, please tell a committee member.
